Quote from Grey's last night....
Grey's Anatomy
Set the scene: Dr. O'malley is given instructions to carry out every possible procedure on the DOA (Dead on Arrival) by Dr. Bailey. When he questions her instructions as a waste of time, she says there is a reason for it. "Practice?" he asks, she says yes, but there is a better reason, and that it will come to you. Near the end of the show he figures out the answer to this question posed by Bailey:
"Why do we 'hump' on every patient that comes through those doors?"
O'Malley realizes the answer:
"So we can tell the family we did everything we could."
